Auger Bits, Stems, and Accessories.

Hollow Stem Augers

Small diameter auger and extensions are used widely in the geophysical field, for soil sampling and by other operators who drill a number of small-sized holes, These augers are available In 1 1/2", 2", and 3" diameters, and a variety of lengths.

The Screw-on Auger is designed with female threads on both ends of the auger and includes a replaceable screw-on point. An adapter is required to attach the auger to a Little Beaver power unit: The Screw-on Extension has male threads on the bottom end female threads on top. It attaches between the auger and the adapter when greater depths are desired.

The Hex Auger/Extension is designed with a female hex socket on the bottom and a male top. When mated, the connection is secured with a stainless steel locking pin. Use of the Hex Auger requires both a hex point and adapter.

Tough and ultra-light for portability
Do more soil-testing and sampling with new hollow-stem augers from Little Beaver.

Built for speed
These real lightweights - less than half the weight of other hollow-stems - are easier to pick up, carry, attach, and fit to the drill stem. Jobs go faster and you can do more drilling, more sampling, and more soil testing in any given time frame.

Rugged and modular.
We make auger bodies and blades of tough, ductile mild steel, and hardcase them for durability. Choose replaceable cutting blade inserts of hardfaced steel or carbide. Connect individual 4 ft. auger modules to build up to 32 feet of drill string. Augers are available in 6" O.D. and 8" O.D. The 8" auger has a 3 3/4" I.D. barrel and the 6" auger has a 2 3/4" barrel.

Drill Chuck Attachment For Drilling Ease

Put clean holes in fence posts, wooden decking, concrete or masonry - fast - with an efficient drill chuck attachment and adapter. The 3/4" capacity chuck will accommodate standard wood or masonry bits to 1 1/2" diameter and may be used with any Little Beaver power unit . Drill bits may be purchased at most hardware stores.

Bucket Augers - Ideal for Soft Soils

The Bucket Auger reduces side friction when drilling, allowing the operator to obtain deeper depths in soft soils. When the bucket is filled, the auger must be pulled out of the hole, and the bucket emptied of dirt. The bucket Auger is not recommended for use in hard ground.

Replacement Points and Blades

All standard Little Beaver augers are equipped with hardened, replaceable points and cutting blades. These do the actual cutting as the auger spins, protecting the auger from excessive wear. To insure maximum digging efficiency and auger life, the point and the blade should be replaced when they become dull. (The blades for 4" through 10" augers have two cutting edges and may be reversed to expose the second edge).

The point is available in two sizes - one that fits the 4" through 12" auger and another that fits the 14" or 16" auger. The side mounted blade is available in sizes to fit the various auger diameters, (4" through 16"), These items bolt onto the auger, and are easily replaced.

Carbide Blades

The Carbide Blade is recommended for tough drilling in hard clay, frozen ground, or other hard pan soils. The high speed auger rotation allows the carbide blade to cut clay or ground into pieces instead of digging into it. This is more effective for tough drilling than the standard point and blade. The carbide blade mounts on the bottom of the auger in place of the standard point, also replacing the side cutter.

Pengo Augers and Blades

When you need a Pengo auger, select tough Little Beaver Pengo Augers and extensions, offered in a wide range of diameters to fit your needs. These augers operate best at a slower RPM than the standard auger and should be used with a 20:1 or 13:1 gear ratio transmission.

The Pengo Auger comes complete with the SB-25 point and the P35 dirt tooth. The point is held in place by a bolt. The blades are held in place by a rubber lock.

The standard little Beaver blades and points cannot be used with the Pengo Augers.

Adapters

Little Beaver has designed several types of adapters that will make your current brand of augers compatible with Little Beaver Earth Drills. We also have adapters that will make it possible to use our snap-on augers with your drilling machine.
